Newlyweds

September 22, 2017 was the best day of my life. I got to marry my best friend, and eat some real good food.

C and I dated for a good while before we decided to tie the knot. We experienced so much within our dating period. We had a lot of ups and downs, just like anybody else. We definitely have our differences. But, we also have a lot of crazy similarities. Our differences made us butt heads, and even wonder why we were dating. Our similarities on the other hand, made us realize we could get through anything as long as we communicated, were honest, and caring towards each other.

C was somebody that came out of nowhere in my life. He had a huge impact on my lifestyle. I only had to give up some, to get more with him. And it was easy to. We had felt the connection right away. There wasn’t a day that went by where we didn’t talk. The long distance friendship we had started soon escalated into a long distance relationship. I couldn’t believe where my “love life” was going at that point, but I remember it being full of butterflies, and well, the whole zoo. It still is! There’s a lot of emotion that comes with reminiscing for me, just because we had encountered and conquered so much together. Looking at all of that leading up to the moment that’s pictured above, is astounding to me.

Long distance relationships are hard, people. It takes a lot of faith, trust, communication, and patience. Lots of patience. All of which we struggled with. Like anybody else would. But check us out, we came on top! And we are happy to be here! We are happy to finally be together, as newlyweds, adventuring and thriving through this life. And establishing ourselves as “The Merrill’s.” So far, it’s been just like it has been when we were dating: laughing, teasing, fights here and there, good food in between, hitting the gym together, family fun, and surrounded by lots of good friends. We wouldn’t have it any other way!
